The Youth Community Coalition is partnering with the Boone County Sheriff’s Department and the police departments of Hallsville, Centralia, Ashland, Sturgeon, and the University of Missouri to raise awareness about the dangers of prescription drug abuse. The abuse of over the counter medications and prescription drugs has been an increasing problem in recent years and has even resulted in the deaths of a few local teens.
To help prevent abuse and inform the community about the dangers of abusing prescription medication, the Youth Community Coalition and Boone County Sheriff’s Department, along with the police departments of Ashland, Hallsville, Centralia, and Sturgeon will host a Prescription Drug Take Back Days periodically throughout the year. If you are not able to make it to a take back site, you can find more information about safe disposal locally here: Proper Disposal of Medications
For more information, please call the Youth Community Coalition at 573-443-2556 x1284 or email: takeback@yc2.org.
